Aid projects Africa

Niger is located in West Africa, and is one of the poorest countries in the world. Of its close to 12 million inhabitants, only a minority have a fixed, regular income. The unemployment rate is 78%. Most of the people live in rural areas, completely cut off from technical progress. Electricity, running water, transport connections, medical help, schools and education are foreign concepts or unfulfilled dreams for most of its people.

The truck sponsored by the Ten Brinke Group is used as a transport medium. All income generated in this way is used to finance projects with regular expenses (e.g. pregnancy advice and obstetric wards, crèches, schools, solar cookers, water fountains for drinking water etc.).

The project, which is initiated and supported by Niger Aktiv Kreis e.V. from Gronau (Germany),  precisely mirrors the objectives placed on aid projects in third world countries by the Ten Brinke Group:

"Investments for job creation and placing the inhabitants of these countries in a position to be able to build up an existence themselves, accompanied by self-respect, and then to use the profits for financing new projects, without having to permanently rely on third-party help."
