Corporate responsibility requires a commitment to society

It was out of this conviction that Ten Brinke established the Ten Brinke Foundation several years ago. Its aim: to sustainably improve the standard of living in the poorest countries in the world, in the long term and through targeted action.

For Ten Brinke, social commitment means "helping people to help themselves", i.e. support through the provision of financial means for the construction of training centres, the establishment and development of own farm projects, the granting of micro-credit financing to give people the opportunity to build up their own livelihoods - so that they can shape their lives in the long term independently of the help of third parties.

The Ten Brinke Foundation offers help that is direct and tangible. Aid that is tailored to local needs and at the same time future-oriented.

Criteria for the selection of a project

The Ten Brinke Foundation applies the following criteria when assessing requests for financial support for projects:

Applications for projects that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

  • Only projects in the poorest countries or regions will be supported, currently we are focusing on projects in Malawi.
  • The project should promote economic development in the area concerned.
  • The country in which the project is carried out should be politically stable.
  • We prefer projects that we can fully support as a main sponsor with 75% to 100%.
  • Only requests from organisations based in the Netherlands or Germany will be considered.

Farm Malawi

Loyce Sikakula runs an orphanage near Lake Malawi. There was no government support for this, so the idea of self-sufficiency through a farm plot was born.

Ten Brinke Foundation - Visit from Malawi

With the financial support of the Ten Brinke Foundation, the kick off was given in October 2021 for the establishment of a job and business center in Blantyre, YE Youth Enterprises, Malawi. In May 2022, the director of Youth Enterprises, Margaret Gondwe, visited us together with 3 directors of the training centers, who want to place their trainees in employment through YE after successful completion.
