If you are one of the lucky fans of Liverpool FC or Tottenham Hotspur FC who will be travelling to Madrid over the next few days to attend the 2019 Champions League final at the brand new Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, let us welcome you to our wonderful city and recommend some places of interest if you have some free time to visit the city, either the day before the match or on Sunday.

We have selected for you a route on foot so that for a few hours you can visit essential places that you cannot miss in Madrid.

• Starting point: Parque del Retiro. The lung of the city, a beautiful and huge garden of the seventeenth century.

• Point 2: Puerta de Alcalá. One of the royal gates giving access to the city, ordered to be built by King Charles III in 1769.

• Point 3: Fuente Cibeles. The emblem of the city of Madrid, a place of celebration for the followers of Real Madrid.

• Point 4: Museo del Prado. One of the most famous art galleries in the world.

• Point 5: Fuente de Neptuno. Precious fountain and place of celebration of the followers of Atlético de Madrid.

• Point 6: Congreso Diputados. The house of the Spanish parliament, a symbol of democracy.

• Point 7: Puerta del Sol. The most famous square in Madrid, a must for any visitor.

• Point 8: Plaza Mayor. Historic square inaugurated in 1619, its beauty is indescribable.

• End point: Palacio Real. The largest palace in Western Europe, a jewel in the centre of Madrid.
